Your guide to Walt Disney World Resort's dining plans

Updated: May 16

Starting Jan. 9, the highly requested and beloved Disney Dining Plan returns to Walt Disney World® Resort. Placed on hold during the COVID-19 closure, different dining plan packages provided guests with pre-paid credits for different types of meals each day during a Walt Disney World Resort vacation.

Guests who book vacation packages with park tickets and Disney resort hotel accommodations beginning Jan. 9, 2024 will be able to purchase one of two dining plan options.

Disney Quick Service Dining Plan

The first of the two new dining plan options is built for families on the go, delivering a fast, easy option for restaurants that don't require reservations. Everyone in the party ages 3 and over receives:

  • 2 Quick-Service Meals (per night of stay)

  • 1 Snack/Nonalcoholic Drink (per night of stay)

  • 1 Resort-Refillable Drink Mug

Disney Dining Plan

Those who want a greater meal variety and like to slow down with a sit-down meal or have the opportunity to meet characters while dining should look to the Disney Dining Plan. Everyone in the party ages 3 and over receives:

  • 1 Quick-Service Meal (per night of stay)

  • 1 Table-Service Meal (per night of stay)

  • 1 Snack/Nonalcoholic Drink (per night of stay)

  • 1 Resort-Refillable Drink Mug

How Dining Credits Work

Disney explains that, "Specific number of meals and snacks are determined by the number of nights included in the package stay. Meals and snacks can be redeemed at any time during your stay. Unused meals and snacks will roll over day to day and expire at midnight on day of checkout. Meals and snacks are nontransferable between party members."

Many to-go snacks and pre-packaged treats from Disney shops can be obtained via snack credits and make for a great take-home treat for those who get to the end of their trip with credits remaining.

Most restaurants take one credit per meal. Fine/Signature Dining experiences, select Character Dining experiences and Dinner Shows take two credits per meal.

How Drinks Work

Guests under 21 can order any non-alcoholic beverage with either dining plan. Guests 21-and-over can elect for a beer, wine or cocktail with their meal.

Resort-refillable mugs are available to each guest with either dining plan and can be picked up at the resort of stay. The mugs are eligible for refills from self-service beverage islands at any Disney Resort hotel Quick-Service location.
