What you need to know about Disney Genie in 2023

Updated: May 21

©Disney

Disney launched its FastPass+ replacement Disney Genie, located within the My Disney Experience App, over a year ago, and its now seeing its biggest popularity yet. The paid version, Genie+, has sold out many days recently, often before 10 a.m.

Need to determine if you want the service, and how you can buy it before it sells out? Let us help.

Disney Genie

Disney Genie is the free version of the service, accessible to all guests via the My Disney Experience smartphone app. It builds a personalized itinerary based on your preferences and favorite attractions, using real-time information to give you an accurate look at your potential park day.

Disney Genie+

Disney Genie+ is the paid version of the service—the FastPass+ replacement—located within the Disney Genie section of the app. Like theme park tickets, pricing fluctuates by the season, ranging from $15 to $22 per person, per day. At Disneyland® Resort, pricing starts at $25.

At Walt Disney World® Resort, guests must purchase Disney Genie+ the day of use, with purchases available beginning at midnight. Lightning Lane selections are available beginning at 7 a.m. We recommend purchasing the pass and booking your initial Lightning Lane selection as soon as each window opens to be guaranteed access to the limited Genie+ feature and to have maximum selection of Lightning Lane attractions.

Your Genie+ purchase also includes download of on-ride photos and unique lenses you can add to your photographs and selfies.

Individual Lightning Lane

Select attractions are not available via Genie+, and are instead available via individual purchase to both those with the free Genie service and the paid Genie+ service. The division of attractions offering Genie+ and Lightning Lane availability can be found here.
