Construction walls have been up around EPCOT®, most notably surrounding much of what was formerly known as Future World, for a few years.
Disney has recently introduced new concept art and new announcements for World Celebration and World Nature, showcasing the new CommuniCore Hall that will stand on the former CommuniCore West location.
Replacing what was originally planned to be an elevated festival structure, this new building and its outdoor space, CommuniCore Plaza, will host music performances of various scales. The flexible site will look to help amplify the food, music, art and demonstrations present throughout EPCOT's festivals. The building will also serve as the new stage for meet-and-greets with Mickey and friends.
The EPCOT World Celebration Gardens, a newly detailed area, will have bountiful foliage that changes with the seasons and dynamic lighting that will transform the area come nighttime. Nearby will sit Moana: Journey of Water in EPCOT World Nature.
Though no official, exact completion dates have been given, Disney Imagineer John Dennis stated at D23 in November 2021 that the EPCOT expansion would be completed in 2023.
