What’s new this fall in Walt Disney World Resort

Disney is famous for its year-round changes, and this coming season is one for Florida’s record books. New lands, new hotels and new restaurants are confirmed for late 2019, and with a few having just recently opened, the end of the year is going to be one to remember for guests.

Coronado Springs

One of the best moderate resorts just got better, as its new Gran Destino Tower and rooftop dining experience just opened. It is just an added incentive to stay at one of the most naturally beautiful resorts on property, with its recently renovated rooms enough of an incentive on their own.

Takumi-Tei

The word “experience” gets frequent use when talking about Disney vacations, but it seems most appropriate when referring to this newly opened restaurant in the Japan pavilion. With some of the most unique and premium food items in all of the Disney parks, it offers a meal more authentic than any other, and has to been seen to be believed.

Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique

There’s a new location for the princess makeover of a lifetime: Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. More opportunities for such experiences are always welcome, especially when this one is so close to the theme park where its theming is best suited. Perfect to let the younger guests in the party dress up, and then go meet their idols next door.

NBA Experience

This ticketed location in Disney Springs is Disney Quest’s replacement, and is set to open Aug. 12. With the surging popularity of the National Basketball Association, this is an NBA fan’s dream vacation spot, or a new fan’s entry point.

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

Already open in Disneyland®Resort, Florida’s version is set to open on Aug. 29. It’s bringing with it new shopping, dining and attraction experiences, and is undoubtedly going to be a must-do for a long time. The one in California already looks to be setting the standard for theme parks across the world, so it will be a welcome addition once Florida’s is open.

Disney Skyliner

Talked about for years and rumored for even longer, the midair gondola system is on its way later this year, with testing units already filling the sky. The more that’s revealed, the more practical and efficient they seem from getting around property.

Epcot Forever

The new fireworks spectacular is replacing the all-time great, Illuminations: Reflections of Earth, for one year only. Celebrating the park’s greatest music over the course of its history, it’s the perfect dream for Epcot® fans.
