What's coming to Walt Disney World Resort in 2023



Every year sees a wealth of additions to the Disney theme parks. Though we cannot predict the surprise announcements, sudden refurbishments and changes, we can chronicle the official announcements that tease what we can expect.


Nighttime Spectaculars

  • Happily Ever After (April) - As Walt Disney World® Resort's 18-month 50th anniversary celebration comes to a close on March 31, Disney Enchantment and Harmonious are set to end. The beloved Happily Ever After is set to take over Cinderella Castle's fireworks once more, returning with a few to-be-announced updates.

  • New EPCOT® Show (Late 2023) - The barges seen throughout the day that light the way for Harmonious will be no more as the refreshed EPCOT debuts a new fireworks show later this year.

  • EPCOT Forever (April) - Once Harmonious leaves and Disney prepares EPCOT's new show, its interim fireworks celebration that ran until Harmonious debuted will return.

Dining

  • Rodeo Roundup BBQ (Spring) - This new, intricately themed barbecue restaurant is scheduled to open in Toy Story Land. Packed with color and details meant for the guests that have been shrunken to the size of toys, this is set to bring a new cuisine to Disney's Hollywood Studios®.

  • The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers - This new restaurant is scheduled to join Disney’s BoardWalk in 2023, bringing cakes, afternoon tea and additional dining.The restaurant's website says it will feature “a whimsical atmosphere that complements the magic of the idyllic charm of Disney’s BoardWalk that guests know and love.”

  • Summerhouse on the Lake - Following locations in major United States cities, like Chicago, this restaurant is set to bring pizza, sandwiches, salads, pasta and brunch to Disney Springs in 2023.

  • Rosa Mexicano - With locations in New York, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, New Jersey and Maryland, the new Swan and Dolphin Resort restaurant is set to deliver elevated Mexican cuisine and the restaurant's famous margaritas.

Attractions

  • Tron Lightcycle Run (Spring) - The massive, long-anticipated coaster is scheduled to open early in 2023, bringing new thrills to Magic Kingdom® Park.

  • Journey Into Water - Inspired by Moana (Late 2023) - The attraction consuming much of the construction space in EPCOT is scheduled to open this year. Taking inspiration from Disney ideas of old, this walk-through journey is set to feature tons of Moana's most memorable characters.

  • The Hatbox Ghost - The beloved character seen in Disneyland® Resort's Haunted Mansion is set to join Walt Disney World Resort's version in 2023.

EPCOT

  • Dreamer's Point (Late 2023) - This beautiful new area of the park, just past Spaceship Earth, is set to feature new designs, new foliage and a new statue of Walt.

  • EPCOT's Neighborhoods - EPCOT's new neighborhoods, once known as Future World, are approaching completion and should begin to reopen near the end of 2023.

  • Figment Meet-and-Greet - The beloved purple dragon is set to meet guests sometime in 2023!
