Walt Disney World Resort 2020 packages are available! Now what?

Disney announced its 2020 booking packages today, meaning guests who want to kick off the new decade with a vacation to Walt Disney World® Resort can now begin scheduling. So here’s what’s available, and here’s what to do when you’re ready:

What to Keep in Mind

The most important thing for many families is finding the right time to vacation. To have the smoothest vacation planning possible, be sure to have your dates ready to go before you check out packages or call an agent. Here’s some big events you’ll want to be aware of (note: most only include dates for this year, as those are what we currently have available, but should provide good guidelines as what to expect for 2020):

  1. Marathon Weekend: Jan. 9-12, 2020

  2. Epcot® International Festival of the Arts: Scheduled Jan. 18-Feb. 25, 2019

  3. Epcot® International Flower and Garden Festival: Scheduled March 6-June 3, 2019

  4. Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party: Select dates Aug. 16-Nov. 1, 2019

  5. Eat to the Beat Concert Series (Epcot®): Scheduled Aug. 29-Nov.19, 2019

  6. Epcot® International Food and Wine Festival: Scheduled Aug. 20-Nov. 23, 2019

  7. Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party: Select Nights Nov. 8-Dec. 22, 2019

  8. Candlelight Processional (Epcot®): Scheduled Nov. 28-Dec. 31, 2019

Annual Passes Increased Prices

Annual pass prices increased last night . While our original calculations estimated that the average guest could break even, or even save money, after going twice on an annual pass, that may no longer be the case. If you’re looking to take multiple trips in 2020, here’s how much it’ll cost to buy or renew your annual passes:

  1. Disney Premier Passport

  2. $150 increase from $1,949 to $2,099

  3. Disney Platinum Plus Annual Pass

  4. $225 increase from $994 to $1,219

  5. DVC members are Florida resident prices are a $150 increase from $849 to $999

  6. Disney Platinum Annual Pass

  7. $225 increase from $894 to $1,119

  8. DVC members are Florida resident prices are a $150 increase from $749 to $899

  9. Disney Gold Annual Pass

  10. Only for DVC members and Florida residents

  11. $90 increase from $609 to $699

  12. Disney Silver Annual Pass

  13. Only for Florida residents

  14. $50 increase from $479 to $529

  15. Disney Theme Park Select Annual Pass

  16. Only for Florida residents

  17. No prince increase at $439

  18. Disney Weekday Select Annual Pass

  19. Only Florida residents

  20. $30 increase from $319 to $349

  21. Epcot® After 4 Annual Pass

  22. Only Florida residents

  23. $20 increase from $289 to $309

  24. Disney Water Parks Annual Pass

  25. $9 increase from $130 to $139

  26. Disney Water Parks After 2 Annual Pass

  27. Only Florida residents

  28. $10 increase from $79 to $89

What to Know About Packages

All new packages begin Jan. 1, 2020. The biggest significance is that those who had a room-only reservation can now begin packages that include their tickets, and guests who have been looking forward to a 2020 Disney vacation can now begin to book their entire trip. Packages typically include your room and ticket, along with options for dining plans and special discounts, called magical extras.

Some extras have carried over from the past, but all of this year’s new and updated additions include:

  1. Disney Springs Magical Extras

  2. Coca-Cola Store

  3. 15% off purchases of $30 or more

  4. Not applicable for rooftop beverage bar or professional photography services

  5. Erwin Pearl

  6. 10% off purchases of $150 or more

  7. Origins

  8. 10% off non-discounted items

  9. Planet Hollywood Observatory

  10. $15 off food or beverage purchases

  11. Gratuity not included

  12. Rinse Bath & Body Co.

  13. Complimentary Pucker Stick lip balm with any $5 purchase

  14. Sanuk

  15. 20% off any purchase

  16. Non-Disney Springs Magical Extras

  17. Miniature Golf

  18. Choose between two 18-hole courses

  19. Receive four vouchers per package. Each voucher is good for one guest to play at one of the different courses.

  20. Expires at midnight the day of checkout

  21. Orlando Stroller Rentals

  22. Get a free cooler by typing “free cooler” without the quotation marks in the notes section while making your reservation online

  23. Pro Shops at Walt Disney World Golf

  24. Buy one, get one half off

  25. Valid at Walt Disney World Golf apparel at Pro Shops located at Disney’s Lake Buena Vista Golf Course, Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course, Disney’s Palm Golf Course, and Disney’s Oak Trail Golf Course

2020 Dining Plans

With new packages comes new dining plans. The plans have added new details and options in the past, but aside from some price alterations, they have stayed the same this year. Since guests under three eat for free, dining plans are not applicable to them. Dining plans are an optional part of the Walt Disney World® Resort experience, and next year’s options come as follows:

  1. Quick Service Dining Plan

  2. Two quick service meals per day. Includes either entrée OR combo meal

  3. Guests under 21 can order one non-alcoholic beverage with their meal per day. These include:

  4. Artisanal milkshakes

  5. Fresh smoothies

  6. Premium hot chocolates

  7. Soda

  8. Coffee

  9. Tea

  10. Guests over 21 can order one alcoholic or one non-alcoholic beverage with their meal per day

  11. Two snacks per day

  12. One resort refillable mug per person, good for the duration of your stay

  13. Standard Dining Plan

  14. One table service meal per day. Includes entrée and dessert, OR a buffet

  15. One quick service meal per day

  16. Guests under 21 can order one non-alcoholic beverage with their meal per day

  17. Guests over 21 can order one alcoholic or one non-alcoholic beverage with their meal per day

  18. Two snacks per day

  19. One resort refillable mug per person, good for the duration of your stay

  20. Standard Dining Plan

  21. One table service meal per day. Includes entrée and dessert, OR a buffet

  22. One quick service meal per day
