Upcoming construction and new projects coming to Walt Disney World Resort

As the opening of Tiana's Bayou Adventure, the new-look Country Bear Jamboree and the rest of EPCOT® opens, new projects will crop up at Walt Disney World® Resort.

Test Track

Test Track is scheduled to close on June 14, 2024, as work on a reimagining begins. If the concept art holds, the sleeker entrance—without the canopies—will give way to the classic, open-air track that wraps the building.

Chevrolet will continue to sponsor the attraction, as Imagineers will take inspiration from the original World of Motion.

Magic Kingdom® Park Expansion

Disney confirmed in a Glendale meeting with reporters that the company is filing permits soon to begin work on the area behind Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.

The park's largest expansion ever, concept art initially revealed by Josh D'Amaro indicated the company was considering themes revolving around Encanto, villains and Coco. It is currently unknown what will fill that space for certain.

Disney's Animal Kingdom®

Disney Imagineering is working to bring Encanto and Indiana Jones to Disney's Animal Kingdom. Together, these two IPs would replace all of the Dino-Land, U.S.A. area. The Indiana Jones Adventure attraction, which has the same track as Dinosaur, would replace the Walt Disney World® Resort ride. Though Imagineering has said this project has a "long way to go," models indicate it is in active development.
