Universal Orlando Resort’s most kid-friendly attractions

Universal Orlando Resort boats plenty thrills and adult-friendly offerings, but it has just as much, if not more, that are designed to appeal to younger guests. With attractions that are both great for the family and fun for the kids, both of Universal’s Orlando theme parks provide offerings for all ages.

Hogwarts Express

This slow-moving train experience is every bit an immersive, stimulating show as it is a ride. A couple frightening Dementors on the train could provide a brief scary moment for children sensitive to spooks, but there are no jump scares or sudden twists. This mild attraction is an excellent window into the Wizarding World of Harry Potter for younger guests.

The Cat in the Hat

Ok, we will admit it, we love this as adults, too.

Much of Seuss Landing is designed with younger guests in mind, and this dark ride is the cherry on top of one of Universal’s most colorful lands. Vibrant colors and a thoroughly entertaining make this the perfect escape from hot, rainy days and the intimidation of thrills.

All of this land’s rides would be perfect for younger guests, but this is our personal favorite.

Despicable Me Minion Mayhem

This large-room simulator dials down the intensity and dials up the humor, giving guests of all ages the perfect excuse to laugh out loud with some of Universal’s most beloved characters among children. With two entertaining pre-shows, this ride is built to entertain from beginning to end. Its minimum height requirement of 40 inches and simulator motion make it the perfect attraction for those growing guests who want to transition to rides that are a little more adventurous, though the thrills are still mild enough for those who are still trepidatious.
