Transportation options returning to Walt Disney World Resort

Updated: May 16

As Walt Disney World® Resort continues to roll back to many of its pre-coronavirus offerings, it has revealed the return of the Epcot® monorail line and has implemented some indications that more might be coming soon.

Epcot Monorail Line

The Epcot monorail, which has been closed as its Magic Kingdom® Park has run, is opening on July 18. With the Disney Skyliner and and resort hotel busses still in place, this creates a robust opportunity for more ways to get to the Epcot park and nearby hotels.

Direct service from Disney's Polynesian Resort to Epcot will continue through mid-August, indicating that the still under-construction monorail station at the resort could see completion closer to that date.

Walkway from Polynesian

The walkway from Disney's Polynesian Resort to Disney's Grand Floridian Resort has reopened, meaning guests can walk from any of the resorts on the Magic Kingdom Park monorail line to the park itself. The tram system at the Transportation and Ticket Center still remains down, although Disney cast members were seen inspecting it as soon as yesterday.
