Three things you might be missing at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party

Updated: May 16

The 2018 version of Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party added some new features that make it one of the best versions of the party yet, and so there’s plenty for both newcomers and long-time partygoers to see and do. It’s so easy to get caught up in the big events that some of the most unique features at the party could go completely unseen.

The New Dance Party

The Storybook Circus Disney Junior Dance Party is geared toward younger guests, but if you’ve got children in your party it’s the perfect way to help them burn off some of the energy from all the sugar they’ll get from trick-or-treating. It gives them a less-intimidating version of the bigger dance parties, and the familiar characters could be a great way to calm some children down who might get overwhelmed by the sheer volume of activities the party has to offer.

The Cadaver Dans Barbershop Quartet

The Dapper Dans are some of the most popular performers in all of the Disney parks. The barbershop quartet transforms for the Halloween party and moves to Frontierland where they perform songs themed around the holiday in new costumes. They aren’t a big attraction and won’t have a lined wrapped around them, but don’t let that distract you from their presence.

Party-Exclusive Snacks

You’re probably aware by now that there are several trick-or-treating stations set around the park, but did you know about the exclusive snack items at the party? Some of the new treats are around in the park all day (always check the Starbucks bakery), but some can only be found at the party. Last year, for example, there was a pumpkin cheesecake dome at Gaston’s Tavern and a pumpkin Mickey waffle sundae at Sleepy Hollow Refreshments. Guests could also find several Haunted Mansion® Attraction-themed tarts at Liberty Square Market, Aloha Isle, Storybook Treats, and Auntie Gravity’s Galactic Goodies. Don’t forget to stop by one of those places and see what desserts they offer this year, it’d be a bummer to see all the snacks you missed on Instagram after you leave the party.
