The FastPass+ reservation system has become the heart of the planning stage for most guests headed to Walt Disney World® Resort, and thus selecting those must-do attractions can bring a barrage of what-ifs and what-to-dos.
It should all come down to preference, as your favorite attractions are the ones most worth spending the FastPass+ on so that you can skip the long lines and make sure you get to your top attractions.
That said, some attractions are still so hot with all guests, that it is best to use a FastPass+ on them if you want to get an opportunity to experience them on your trip.
Magic Kingdom® Park: Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
While the mountain coasters certainly make for worthwhile FastPass+ selections, planning ahead can usually allow for moderate wait times near park open and close. The Snow White-themed attraction, on the other hand, sees consistently long lines, and has remained one of the park’s most popular attractions since its inception.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom® Theme Park: Avatar Flight of Passage
When this attraction debuted, it was on the cusp of changing the identity of theme park rides for the future.
And it still is. I find myself more blown away each time I exit this attraction, a new surprise, a new question, a new inspiration forming on each ride. It is a provocative, thrilling attraction that goes far deeper than simply being a theme park ride, and is worth the FastPass+ to bypass the lines.
Epcot®: Test Track® Presented by Chevrolet®
This is one of the tougher parks to figure out, as most of its marquee attractions make for perfectly good uses for a FastPass+. It often comes down to preference, and this one has a single rider line, which means it is possible to get around the long wait if you’re willing to split your party up.
If you are not, though, I recommend this one, and instead get to Soarin® Attraction right as the park opens. Both attractions are going to see heavy lines early, and in my experience, Soarin’s takes a little longer to back up, and this way you won’t have to separate your party.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios®: Slinky Dog Dash
The Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge attractions will not accept FastPass+ at launch, meaning you’ll have to look elsewhere to get through a line more quickly. Those will likely be first priority at rope drop for most, and should have steady lines throughout the day, meaning it is fair to assume some of the biggest thrills near the front of the park could see shorter wait times than usual, though they make fine FastPass+ selections.
However, Toy Story Land is still new to many guests, and plenty visiting for Galaxy’s Edge will also be seeing Andy’s backyard for the first time. That would make its attractions a priority for FastPass+ selection, so that’s what I would choose first for this park.
