Must-try dishes at the 2019 Epcot International Food and Wine Festival

Updated: May 16

All of the Epcot® festivals reign supreme for different reasons, but the Epcot® International Food and Wine Festival still holds as the park’s best, with a wealth of dining options so wide that entire trips can revolve around the event with ease.

With such a depth of opportunities, it could be difficult deciding where to start based on a menu alone. While it is all down to preference and personal taste, here are my most anticipated dishes for this year’s festival, in no particular order:

Loaded Macaroni & Cheese with Nueske’s® Pepper Bacon, Cheddar and Leeks

There is no scenario in which I would say no to trying a mac and cheese dish, and especially when it’s this one. This was available at the festival last year, and it sounds so unbelievably indulgent that it is a must-have again this year.

Location: Active Eats.

Charcuterie in a Cone with imported Spanish Meats, Cheeses and Olives with an Herb Vinaigrette

Charcuterie boards have quickly become a problem for me when considering diversifying my orders, and this one looks to interrupt the festival in the same way. It isn’t as heavy as a lot of the other festival items, meaning it should be a great option on hotter days. Putting in a cone makes it all the better to take on the go as you head to your next dish.

Location: Spain

Charred Chimichurri Skirt Steak on a Smoked Corn Cake with Pickled Vegetable Slaw and Cilantro Aïoli

This dish’s long name is self-explanatory, and every word of it sounds delicious. Charred meats have long been a quality centerpiece of Disney’s food-centric festivals, and this looks to be no exception.

Location: Flavors from Fire

Kalua Pork Slider with Sweet-and-Sour DOLE® Pineapple Chutney and Spicy Mayonnaise

This was by far last year’s biggest standout, and so it’s only natural that it should be among the best this year as well. Every item from this location is worth trying, as they are all festival highlights in their own rights, but the slider stands as the best of them.
