High-speed rail station coming to Universal Orlando Resort

The advent of greater public transportation in Central Florida is set to connect guests with Universal Orlando Resort's upcoming theme park, Epic Universe, by Brightline's new high-speed train.

The Shingle Creek Transit Utility Community Development District will "plan, finance, construct, operate, own and maintain" the new SunRail station that is set to stop at the Orange County Convention Center, located across from the building site of Universal's new theme park.

Universal and the Orlando Right Rail coalition, supported by the International Drive Chamber of Commerce, committed $13 million in annual ticket sales for the Sunshine Corridor, its expected annual operating cost.

Epic Universe is scheduled to open in 2025.

The Brightline connection from Orlando International Airport to Miami is scheduled to open in 2023. No date has been provided for its expansion to the Epic Universe area.
