Disney's Star Wars hotel has been in the works for quite some time, but the company celebrated May 4th, the Star Wars celebration day, with a bunch of news regarding the resort.
Here's what we know:
When does it open?
Guests will be able to stay at the resort in summer 2022. No exact opening date or booking window has been announced yet, but within about a year's time the resort is scheduled to open its doors for the first time.
How long can you stay?
A unique question for a resort hotel, but that's because Galactic Starcruiser is unlike any other. This experience casts guests as characters in their own Star Wars story, meaning they'll live through the hotel under a specially designed storyline. This puts stays at two days and two nights for each booking.
If you're curious as to just how deeply immersed Disney wants you to be in the hotel' s storyline, check out this video of an all-new lightsaber designed by Walt Disney Imagineering Research and Development that will be visible there for the first time.
What is there to do?
With an all-immersive, storyline-based resort comes activities native to the hotel. While Disney has kept much of the details broad, it says guests will make decisions that impact their stay.
Outside of that nugget of interactivity, guests will also meet several characters from the Star Wars universe, including ones created just for the hotel. Guests will also experience a multi-course dinner at the Crown of Corellia Dining Room—an ode to the Millennium Falcon's birthplace—where they'll watch a live music performance.
Other activities include lightsaber training and a visit to Batuu in Disney's Hollywood Studios®.
