Halloween Horror Nights is the annual Halloween celebration that takes over Universal Orlando Resort on select nights. From roaming scare actors in the themed Scare Zones to the unforgettable haunted houses designed after original concepts and beloved franchises, each year's events brings new haunts that make it one of the primary Halloween events in the United States.
Dates
Dates have been announced for the 31 nights available at 2023's Halloween Horror Nights, and includes:
Sept. 1–3, 6–10, 13–17, 20–24, 27–30
Oct. 1, 4–8, 11–15, 18–22, 25–29, 31
Nov. 1-4
The Scares
Last year featured five Scare Zones and two live shows. Though it has yet to be announced, Halloween Horror Nights typically includes a large selection of exclusive food and beverages, including the fan-favorite twisted taters and pizza fries.
Scare Zones are walkthrough areas, where guests explores hauntingly transformed stretches of the park, where scare actors roam with the intention to frighten all who wander through the dense fog. Several attractions frame the night with additional thrills for those who need additional exhilaration after the jump scares.
The Houses
The intensely themed, short-form haunted houses bring close-up scares with a thorough design philosophy that can be as inspiring as they are terrifying. The houses are often Halloween Horror Nights's main draw for many guests, and provide one of the most unique scare experiences in the world. This year is set to bring 10 houses to Universal Orlando Resort, with the announced houses including:
CHUCKY
The renowned, diabolical doll gets his own house, with the beloved horror mascot prepared to hunt down guests through his first house since 2009.
The Last of Us
Guests into the world of Max's hottest show and once of the most popular video games of the modern era, running from the franchise's "clickers"—its version of zombies—through abandoned Pittsburgh. Guests will get the chance to join Joel and Ellie as they escape the clutches of clickers and hunters.
Stranger Things 4
Vecna's curse takes hold on guests as famous characters from the Netflix series return in what Universal is calling their scariest Stranger Things house yet.
