Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, both hosted at Magic Kingdom® Park, offer several differences despite having a similar structure.
Price
The Halloween party ranges from $85 to $135 for adults, while the Christmas party ranges from $99 to $139. The price is dependent on the date of the party and the crowd levels typically expected on those dates, but for some it might be worth noting that the Halloween party costs less per person than the Christmas party on their cheapest dates.
Treats
While there are specialty food options available for purchase at each party, treats are also given away at each. Various cookies and beverages, including hot chocolate and apple cider, have been served at the Christmas party in the past, while cast members hand guests candy à la trick-or-treating for Halloween.
Attractions
Many attractions are open during the event, though the overlays available during Halloween are only presented during the party, while the (incredible, might I add) overlay to the Jungle Cruise® Attraction is available during regular park hours.
Entertainment
In what is likely to be the deciding factor for many guests, the entertainment is the largest difference between each party aside from the decorations. Guests can come in costume to the Halloween party, where they’ll see the Cadaver Dans Barbershop Quartet (my personal favorite) perform, a new nighttime spectacular featuring lasers and fireworks, a Hocus Pocus performance on the Cinderella Castle stage and the Boo-To-You Halloween Parade, led by the Headless Horseman.
Guests attending the Christmas party can expect one of Cinderella Castle’s most beautiful transformations, an all-new fireworks show hosted by Minnie Mouse, the Once Upon a Christmastime parade featuring Santa Clause and a holiday party in the Tomorrowland® Area.
Which to choose?
One party does not offer significant changes to its structure over the other, but rather a different atmosphere and style of content. Which party to attend should largely come down to preference for most guests, as well as which time of the year they would rather have the rest of their vacation.
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party runs from Aug. 16-Nov.1, 2019, and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party runs from Nov. 8, 2019-Dec. 2, 2019. Both parties are only available on select dates, which can be found by checking Disney’s website or contacting a travel agent for free.
