Do you have to use lockers at Universal Orlando Resort?

Those vacationing to Universal Orlando Resort for the first time, or at least the first time in a while, may have heard or recall needing lockers before riding many of Universal's attractions.

And in short, if you've got any sort of bag, you will likely have to use them at some point.

The entrance to each park features lockers that are rentable for the day's duration, giving those who purchase items at Universal City Walk or who need to bring extra supplies a place to store them for the day. The 12 in. x 13 in. x 16.9 in. lockers start at $12 per day, while the larger 12 in. x 16.25 in. x 16.9 in. lockers start at $15 per day.

Some Universal attractions, particularly the coasters and more thrilling rides, do not allow guests to bring bags or loose articles with them onto the attraction.

There are a set of lockers at each ride's entrance, with two sizes each. The smaller lockers are complementary to each guest for the duration of each ride, while the larger ones charge $2 each. Guests can retrieve their items after the ride. All ride lockers charge an additional $3 per extra 30 minutes, up to $20 maximum.

A select few attractions—Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit, Jurassic World VelociCoaster and The Incredible Hulk— are stricter and require all items to be stowed in lockers, but otherwise follow the same procedures as the rest.
