Disney’s Riveria Resort is scheduled to open Dec. 16, 2019, and guests can now make reservations, with DVC members able to use their points later this spring.
The 15th Disney Vacation Club property, a deluxe resort, will be its own hotel, set next to Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort. There are around 300 vacation homes at the resort, ranging from deluxe studios to grand villas that can sleep up to 12 guests.
There’s also a new, 2-guest room called a tower studio, which includes a private balcony and is intended for a honeymoon or more intimate stay.
The resort continues the new trend of rooftop dining, bringing guests to Topolino’s Terrace, a dining experience titled after the Italian name for Mickey Mouse. There’s set to be a character breakfast and a more standard dinner that offers views of fireworks in Disney’s Hollywood Studios® and the new nighttime spectacular show in Epcot®. Le Petit Café, an all-new experience for Disney, will change from a coffee lobby during the day to a wine bar at night. There’s also a new quick service dining location, Primo Piatto, that can be found next to the resort’s featured pool. At that same pool is an open-air bar, titled Bar Riva.
The resort will be set along the Disney Skyliner, giving guests easy access to Disney’s Hollywood Studios® and Epcot®. It’s also perhaps the resort hotel with the most direct connections to Walt Disney after those that he developed himself, as it’s based off of his trip across Europe with his wife, Lillian, and his brother and his wife, Roy and Edna Disney. This resort is all about the stories that Walt made and the culture he encountered on that trip.
